Understanding Embroidery Digitization
Simplicity is Key:
- Best for Simple Designs: Embroidery is ideal for logos that are straightforward and have fewer intricate details. Complex logos with many fine details or gradients may not translate well and might appear less clear when embroidered.
- Trademark Symbols: Any registered trademark symbols in your logo must be removed before digitizing because their small size makes them challenging to digitize accurately for embroidery.
Stitch Count Limit & Fixed File Sizes:
- Maximum Stitch Count: Our embroidery decorators can accommodate up to 20,000 stitches. The decoration fee for embroidery increases as stitch count increases.
- Fixed File Sizes: Embroidery files are created at specific sizes and cannot be resized. Please let us know which products you plan to embroider, as this will help us determine the appropriate file sizes you need. Here are some standard file sizes for embroidery:
- 4" wide file for left chest embroidery
- 5" wide file for bags and blankets
- 2.25" tall file for hats and caps
- 1.5" tall file for visors
Hat Files:
Hat files are designed with special sequencing to accommodate the unique curvature and stitching process of hats. It is important to use the designated hat file for embroidery on hats. Using hat files for other items is not recommended, as they are specifically optimized for hats and may not perform well on different products.
Getting Started:
- Send Your Logo: To start the digitization process, send your logo(s) to your dedicated account manager.
- Digitization Fee: You will receive an invoice for the digitization fee of $30 per logo. Once the invoice is paid, your embroidery files will be prepared within a few business days.
- Receiving Your Files: The completed files will be emailed to you along with our help article on how to set up embroidery artwork in your management portal.
By following these guidelines, you'll ensure that your logo looks its best when embroidered. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out to your account manager.
Exact Pantone color matching isn't achievable with embroidery. Our system offers approximately 120 thread colors to choose from when setting up your embroidery artwork.
